Which do you want first? Explanation or Excuses? Excuses are shorter, so I will start with that. As thrilled as I am with this project I have to admit the last week of school is the toughest time to start it. I haven’t had time for anything but closing down this school year and trying to de-stress. Now, explanation. I have really thought alot about the topic ~ keys. My first thought was Huh? And then I didn’t think anymore. Then I found myself going back to it and thinking in levels. Keys? Keys are tools to open things. Open what? Our minds, our homes, our cars, our worlds???? So, I immediately through the idea of my car keys out the window.
It doesn’t even look like a key… and it works like a switchblade (VW). How about piano keys or keys in music… I am never in key, so how would I know what a key in music looks like? Back to piano keys…. I don’t have a piano and I don’t have time to hunt one down. So I thought about keys to open one’s mind. Go to the library and take photos of books? Now that would be fun, but when? Time… no time. So I thought about what has most opened my life to the world… the Interent. What is the key to access the internet? The keyboard. My keyboard has been around the world a couple of times and one gets hungry when traveling…. so it looks pretty awful and actually, boring. So I applied a special filter which is crayon. It actually made it more interesting but dirtier looking than it actually is. The spots are not food, but highlights. Anyway, assignment completed… okay Major Miz Brenda?
And just in case you think I didn’t follow the directions at all…. here is a photo with keys. Keys to the past, keys to treasure, and, yes, actually keys! Isn’t it amazing the strange things we keep in boxes and when we open them we find it holds all kinds of keys to treasured memories!
Here is a link to the Miz Nita at Red Tin Hearts… she has the key to the other participants. I tell you, sometimes I am so clever! Actually, it is brain drain… poor thing is toast.

They’re great! You think in levels? I fear my levels of thought are few because, even though it’s in front of me every day, I’d never have thought of the keyboard. What a wonderful and original idea you had. I love your keys Miz Cindra. Thank you so much for doing this with us.
Don’t forget to check Nita’s blog tomorrow to see who the next host/hostess is and find out what our challenge topic will be.

Cindra, would you host the next photo challenge?
I don’t think it has to be in a week, it could be two weeks. You also pick the theme.
Please leave me a comment on my site to tell me yes or no.
Or you can e-mail me at indigosea7913@yahoo.com

I love the treatment you gave to the keyboard keys. I kept looking and trying to figure out if you’d actually taken a photo of a sketch you made, but then I read on and you explained what you did. Also, the idea of opening up the mind was something I hadn’t considered, although I did consider musical keys and even took pictures of sheet music showing sharps and flats and therefore the key.
