Actually, that’s not true. I am not overloaded on turkey. In fact, I probably eat less on Thanksgiving Day than I do on others. I am so busy. Yesterday was a success. It was a wonderful blend of many people contributing. Mo made a wonderful wrapped brie for an appetizer. It was delicious and I am going to keep that recipe… so simple, too. Right up my alley. Should have taken a picture of it because it was good to look at, too.
The centerpiece was created by my friend, Tatjana. Every year she brings a beautiful creation for me to use. She also brought a walnut soup that son Beau loves. Yum. Everything was delicious, but the newest addition to my menu was the sweet potato casserole from The Pioneer Woman.com. I did change the recipe just a little. I cut back on the sugar and the milk just about half. It doesn’t matter, it’s the topping that turns it into dessert.
These are the two guests of honor… Mo and Dylan. Food was good, company even better and we capped the evening off with a visit to the movies. We went to Four Christmases… which was a riot. Now, a little shopping today and we are good to go!
A greeting sent to me from friend Kerrie in Florida.
